PTO Notification

posted Dec 5, 2017, 12:32 PM by The Webmaster

Good Afternoon Montessori Families:

Thank you to all the families that picked up their Yankee Candle Orders this past Saturday.

For those families who were unable to pick up their Yankee Candle Orders, arrangements have been made for pick up at the Administration Office on 26th Street Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm. It is strongly encouraged to pick the orders up as soon as it is convenient for you this week as storage space is limited at the office.

Due to the popular demand of the MRCS discount cards, the deadline has been extended until December 7th. Please drop off at the Administrative Office. You will notified when the cards are ready to be picked up at the Administrative Office.

Thank you for supporting your students at MRCS. Have a great day.

School Calendar Change

posted Nov 10, 2017, 10:07 AM by The Webmaster

Good Afternoon Montessori Families:

We are calling today with an important message about the school calendar.

As you all know, last Sunday evening a tornado touched down on our property causing damage to the exterior and shutting down our utilities for several days making it necessary to call off school.

The good news is that there was no interior damage and we are back up and fully operational. Unfortunately,  with our current school calendar, as we enter the winter season, we have already used our existing snow days for the year.  This means if we have to use another snow day we will have to extend our school year into the third week of June. In discussions with our families and our staff this week, we think there is a better option.

Please mark your calendar as follows:  There WILL BE SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 22nd - the day before Thanksgiving.  THIS WILL BE A EARLY DISMISSAL DAY

Students at South Campus will be dismissed at 1:00 pm and students at North campus will be dismissed at 12:45 pm  All buses will be running on the early dismissal schedule which will be published on our website next week.

In addition, WE WILL HAVE SCHOOL on Friday, February 16th on an early dismissal schedule.
If we have to use an additional snow day, we will use the days designated on the current calendar.

Finally, we want to express our gratitude to all those families who sent encouraging emails and calls and offered to help during the aftermath of the tornado.  We are so grateful to our Montessori community for their unwavering dedication and support of our school.

Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing all the students return on Monday.

Lunch will be provided. Picture retake day has been rescheduled for Friday, November 17th. Six to nine choral concerts scheduled at South Campus for Rebecca, Kimberly, Tina, and Elisa’s classes will be rescheduled.

Erie Busing/Childcare

posted Aug 15, 2017, 1:21 PM by The Webmaster

You are receiving this email because you requested that the Erie bus transport your child to a child care facility daily.

Today the Erie School District informed us that they will no longer transport directly to or from Childcare facilities.

You have several options.

You can contact your preferred child care provider and request that they pick up and drop off directly at our schools.  Many facilities are already doing this for other Erie Public schools.

You many use one one of the child care facilities that already provide service to and from our school daily.  Those providers are St. Paul, St. Martins and Pennbriar.  Please contact them directly for more information.

Both campuses at MRCS provide daily before and after care at a reasonable cost.  We also participate in CCIS which offers subsidized care for eligible low income families.  You can find more information about our program on our website.

As you know, the Erie School District is in charge of the transportation services and decisions related to transport.

MRCS is working to provide information as  effectively and quickly as possible to support your families transportation needs.

Please contact with questions.
