The Montessori Community
PTO is thrilled to report the results of our
First Annual Celebration of Art & Science.
First and foremost, we are happy to report that
over 80 families (of the approximately 100 families
in both schools) attended the event on Saturday,
April 9th 2005. The event was a huge success
and is going to raise over $3,000. Thanks to
those of you who attended and made such generous
contributions. More
Bones is almost here! The school
play will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 1:00
p.m. and Saturday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the
gym. Students meet in the Junior Child Care room
at 6:00. Doors open at 6:45. The Saturday performance
is by ticket only.
The Celebration of Spring will
be held Saturday, April 30, 2005 from 10 - Noon.
This will be a chance to clean up and rake the
yard, enjoy the daffodils we all planted last fall
(if there are any still blooming) and enjoy a cup
of coffee with each other! Please come out to support
this event.
Montessori students teamed up
with "Do Something", an organization
of kids helping kids, by collecting money for children
affected by the Asian Tsunami. The students collected
$200 for the Kids Tsunami Relief Fund. The money
will be used to rebuild three schools, a medical
clinic and an orphanage. For more information on
how you can donate at home go to www.dosomething.org
Google
loves Montessori - Now Barbara Walters and millions
of other people know what we already knew - that
a Montessori education does make a difference.
When Ms. Walters recently interviewed "the
Google Guys," they credited their success
to their Montessori education!
MRCS is
pleased to welcome Debbie Mongenel, R.N. to the
staff. The children have already benefited from
her skills in diagnosis and care. She will begin
vision and hearing screenings very soon. Debbie's
office is located across from the kitchen. Stop
by and say hello - even if you aren't feeling
sick!
MRCS Calendar changes were
approved at the January 12th Board Meeting.
We are having an Open House on Monday, February
7th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday February
13th from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. |
